    1. What is happening to the URL linking syntax of American Medical Association databases?

What is happening to the URL linking syntax of American Medical Association databases?

The provider American Medical Association has switched the linking syntax URL to HTTP secure (HTTPS) protocol for all of its databases.

Since all URLs are currently redirecting to https, we will be immediately changing the title-level linking syntax in the Knowledgebase. The content of the databases will remain the same.

This change will take effect on October 20, 2017:

DB ID Database Name Before October 20, 2017 After October 20, 2017
RAJ American Medical Association Journals http://jamanetwork.com https://jamanetwork.com
2CT American Medical Association Journals Backfile (through 1997) http://jamanetwork.com https://jamanetwork.com
    NYF JAMA Network http://jamanetwork.com https://jamanetwork.com
RMX Atlas of the Body from the AMA http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/4555.html https://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/4555.html
AFM AMA Doctor Finder http://webapps.ama-assn.org/doctorfinder/ https://apps.ama-assn.org/doctorfinder/
JJR Journal of the American Medical Association http://jama.ama-assn.org/ https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/

Actions you may need to take:

    • Make sure that either http: or https is included in your proxy configuration before October 20, 2017.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after October 20, 2017.
