What changes are coming to the Gale Business Insights products?
Gale is changing the Business Insights platform, and switching from offering two products to one. The new platform and product name is Gale Business Insights.
The current "Business Insights: Global" collection will become the collection for the new platform:

The collection name will change from "Business Insights: Global" to "Gale Business: Insights", and the Gale database/product code (used in linking) from "BIG" to "GBIB" (Date TBA). Links from the current platform will redirect to the new platform, but collection-, title-, and article-linking will be updated soon to reflect the new collection (Date TBA).
If you currently use the collection "Business Insights: Global" in the KBs per the above, you do not need to make any changes in the KB at this time. The collection name and linking information will be updated automatically.
What do I need to do if I currently use "Business Insights: Essentials" in Ex Libris KBs?
The "Business Insights: Essential" product will no longer exist on the new platform. If you currently use "Business Insights: Essentials", please stop using this collection and change to using the collection above

Gale's European customers have already migrated from the old platform to the new, so you can make the changes above already if this applies to your institution.
North American and other region customers will move to the new platform on or around December 16, 2022.
Although link redirects will be in place, please make any changes necessary in your Ex Libris knowledgebase product by December 16. Please check to make sure that your URL customizations include your institution's Location ID (see the Gale Linking Issues article for more information).
