360 KB: Multiple APA Databases from ProQuest: Name and URL Update -- February 2023
What is happening to several APA databases from ProQuest?
The American Psychological Association (APA) has renamed several products, and the ProQuest platform URLs have also been updated from "search.proquest" to "www.proquest".
Therefore, we will be changing the database names and database URLs in the Knowledgebase. The content of the database, and the database codes, will remain the same.
This change will take effect on February 7, 2023:
Old Database Name | Updated Database Name | Old URL | Updated URL | DB Code |
---|---|---|---|---|
PsycARTICLES | APA PsycArticles® | https://search.proquest.com/psycarticles | https://www.proquest.com/psycarticles | 7RZ |
PsycBOOKS | APA PsycBooks® | https://search.proquest.com/psycbooks | https://www.proquest.com/psycbooks | 8BW |
PsycEXTRA | APA PsycExtra® | https://search.proquest.com/psycextra | https://www.proquest.com/psycextra | 0T6 |
PsycINFO | APA PsycInfo® | https://search.proquest.com/psycinfo | https://www.proquest.com/psycinfo | 7XJ |
PsycTESTS | APA PsycTests® | https://search.proquest.com | https://www.proquest.com/psyctests | 16- |
Actions you may need to take:
- If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name as it appears in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after February 7, 2023.
- If your library uses a third-party service (such as EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
