360 KB: Springer alignment: All Databases are being Name Changed -- January 2024

What is happening to the names of all of Springer databases?

The provider Springer, has decided to rename all of its collections so the names will match better their content.

Therefore, we will be changing the databases names in the Knowledgebase. The content of the databases, and the databases IDs, will remain the same.

This change will take effect on [January 30, 2024]:

All of the names that are being changed, are detailed in the Excel file that is attached in here:

    DB Names Change.xlsx

Actions you may need to take:

    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the databases names as they appear in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after January 30, 2024.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the databases names to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's databases names in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
