    Ovid - WAYFless URL structure update (OpenAthens)

    • Product: Alma/SFX

    Ovid will soon be migrating their Open Athens and Institutional Federated logins to Open Athens Keystone. The purpose of this knowledge article is to provide you with the correct information, in order to ensure that you won't experience problems with your authentication.

    For targets using OVID::Journals parser:

    We have updated the url2 in the service 'parse param' to the new Open Athens base to the following:

    url2=https://openathens.ovid.com/OAKeystone/deeplink

    In order to activate the Open Athens URL, enter the Linking Parameter (L/P) $$ATHENS_BASE with the customers entity ID.
    The L/P $$ATHENS_ID L/P will no longer be functional. Its function was to append the word 'athens' to the base URL, which will no longer be a valid syntax for Ovid.

    $$ATHENS_BASE =  {customers entity id}
    $$ATHENS_ID --> to be removed

    The update will be part of the 20202400 Alma/SFX revision.

    For targets using OVID::books  and OVID::BOOKS parsers:

    We have edited the target parsers for books to use the updated Open Athens Keystone base:

    https://openathens.ovid.com/OAKeystone/deeplink

    In order to activate the Open Athens url, enter the L/P $$U_SHIBBOLETH with the customers entity ID, and $$SHIBBOLETH with the value 'new'.
    The L/P $$ATHENS_ID L/P will no longer be functional. Its function was to append the word 'athens' to the base URL which will no longer be a valid syntax for Ovid.

    $$U_SHIBBOLETH = {customers entity id}
    $$SHIBBOLETH = 'new'
    $$ATHENS_ID --> to be removed

    For example, the new version of the link above should look something like the following:
    https://openathens.ovid.com/OAKeysto...ink?idpselect=https://idp.ovid.com/openathens&entityID=https://idp.ovid.com/
    openathens&T=JS&NEWS=n&CSC=Y&PAGE=toc&D=ovft&AN=00002030-000000000-00000
    The part of the link in bold will need to include your specific EntityID details.
