What Is Happening with the Collection Open Access Titles of Japan in SFX Knowledgebase?
We recently observed an increasing number of support cases requesting changes in the coverage thresholds for various titles included in the Open Access Titles of Japan collection (Target ID: 3660000000000003)
We have contacted the provider via the officially available channel – submitting a request for each correction under a page for the reported title. While the system confirms receipt of the request, it does not provide a tracking number or link to monitor the status.
In some cases, updates have taken longer than expected. Upon follow-up, we received the following response from the ERDB-JP office: “We are making corrections one by one, so please access the relevant item and check if it has been corrected. Thank you very much for your cooperation.”
Because the provider’s system does not currently offer a way to track the status of correction requests, updates can only be confirmed by manually checking the provider’s platform or downloading the latest title list. While this approach is understandable given the current setup, it can be somewhat time-consuming.
To help streamline the process, we encourage customers to report correction requests directly to the provider, as shown in the screenshot below. This may help reduce the time spent routing tickets internally and should lead to faster resolution.
Alternatively, customers may choose to download the title list from the provider's site and manage this collection locally, though we believe having it updated centrally remains the more convenient option.
