    Overview

    The Leganto roadmap is a means to communicate the key priorities and developments with the Leganto community. The roadmap is based on feedback received from the Leganto community.

    The Leganto roadmap gives a view of the development that can be expected. As priorities are developed by the community and information becomes available from the community voting, the roadmap will be updated to reflect updated development plans.

    Roadmap Themes

    Our roadmap focuses around our key themes of providing additional value to libraries through efficient workflows and return on investment on library collections, increasing adoption among instructors through intuitive processes and added value, prioritizing student engagement, including access, affordability, and learning, and providing analytics support decision-making and the ability to demonstrate the library's impact.

    H1 2025 Enhancements

    Clipboard

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Copy and move items in bulk using a clipboard

    Expand on existing copy and move workflows by setting items aside on a clipboard for later use. Useful for:

    • Moving items within long lists
    • Parking items until you’re ready to place them in a list
    •  Copying items multiple times within or across lists

    Library value: Make it easier to review and process lists in Leganto so the library can support instructors more efficiently.

    Link or relink item to library

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Link a citation to a specific resource within the library collection.

    • Replace incomplete metadata by efficiently searching for resources in the library collections
    • Link citations to specific resources while preserving tags, notes, due dates and usage information from the original citation

    Library value: Work more efficiently when processing lists in Leganto. 

    Bolk integration enhancements

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Additional enhancements to the integration with the Bolk copyright system used in Norway

    • Review and complete in Bolk (January)
    • Show locked indication
    • Update Bolk status via Leganto UI
    • When deleting a list, delete the Bolk requests

    Library value/Drive adoption: make it easier for library staff and instructors to create and manage copyright-compliant lists in Leganto.

    Import syllabus to create resource list (Part 1)

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Llibrary staff can upload a syllabus or other file containing references. Leganto will use AI to scan the file and generate a resource list.

    • Library staff can upload files
    • Import PDF, Word, .txt files
    • Paste references to create list
    • Multi-lingual support

    Drive adoption/Library value: Make it easier to start using Leganto--create even lengthy resource lists in minutes, leveraging existing information about course materials.

    View citations by publication country 

    • View citations by publication country in a visual manner
    • Filter reports by academic department

    Analytics: measure and demostrate the diversity of resources used in reading lists

    Open other formats and editions and  recommendations for student use

    • More details available for non-list items (suggestions, favorites)
    • Expose other formats and editions to students
    • Expose recommendations (bX, shelf browse) to students

    Student engagement: Provide additional exploration and learning opportunities related to assigned course materials.

    DCS integration enhancements

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Support new data structure within the DCS, used in the UK

    The DCS is creating a new structure which will support linking one list to multiple courses, similar to the structure in Leganto. Leganto will integrate with the new API once it is available

    Library value: Streamline the integration between Leganto and the DCS, resulting in fewer errors due to mis-matched data across the two systems.

    Leganto data integrated into Rialto

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    View Leganto data within the Rialto marketplace. 

    • Bulk searching of items in a reading list within Rialto
    • Refine searches by citation tags, current/future courses​
    • Purchases will link to the citation/s; citation/s metadata will update automatically

    Library value: streamline the purchasing processes so the library can provide access to course materials more efficiently. 

    Rialto integration: newer edition available for purchase

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Indication in Leganto, based on data from Rialto, that a newer editon of a title is available for purchase.

    • Add an indication in Leganto when Rialto has a new edition not held by the library
    • Provide the option to add the newer edition to the list and/or request purchase

    Library value/Drive adoption: Ensure that instructors are aware of newer editions whicih they might choose to use in their courses. Ensure the library has an efficient means to purchase newer editions when requested.

    Import syllabus to create resource list (Part 2)

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Instructors can upload a syllabus or other file containing references. Leganto will use AI to scan the file and generate a resource list.

    • Workflow to manage non-linked items
    • Add references to sections within existing lists

    Drive adoption/Library value: Make it easier to start using Leganto--create even lengthy resource lists in minutes, leveraging existing information about course materials. 

    OER recommendations

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Recommendatiosn for open educational resources (OER) that align with the course topics 

    • Leverage AI to scan course information (such as a syllabus) to identify key topics and themes
    • Recommend OER to align with course topics

    Drive adoption/Library value:/Student engagement: Promote the usage of OER, help instructors find alternatives to textbooks, provide additional value to instructors within Leganto

    Integration with Alethea

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    For institutions who have both Leganto and Alethea​, provide an integrated expereince across systems

    • Pass users from one system to the other
    • Joint solution provides both access and engagement

    Drive adoption/Student engagement: Joint solution provides access to resources, copyright compliance, and deeper engagement with course materials

    Workflow reports

    What’s New Highlights Impact

    Out of the box reports to enable libraries to measure and report on processing workflows

    Additional measurements to track citation status changes

    Out of the box reports to measure library processing workflows to answer questions such as: 

    • How many readings are complete by day one of courses?
    • How long does it take us to process a list after it has been submitted?
    • How many citations can we complete in a week?
    • What percentage of citations require library processing?
    • Which types of citations take the most time to process

    Analytics: Gain visibility into library workflows, provide instructors with accurate expectations for turnaround times, and identify areas where futher efficiencies could be gained
