    2. Update from Oxford:

What is happening to Oxford Scholarship Online?

The Oxford Scholarship Online collections by Oxford University Press will transition to a new platform beginning July 14th, 2020. OSO URLs will change from www.oxfordscholarship.com to oxford.universitypressscholarship.com.

We are currently working with Oxford to receive new title lists and update links and linking parsers . Oxford confirmed that redirects will be supported until ingestion process is complete to ensure a smooth transition to the new platform. We will update this article when we have a definitive timeline when the updates and ingestion process will be complete for the kowledgebases and index.

    Update from Oxford:

The URL Change for Oxford Scholarship Online (OSO) from www.oxfordscholarship.com to oxford.universitypressscholarship.com that was originally scheduled to go live today will not move forward today as planned. You may have noticed changes to the site, but after initial checks, we have made the decision not to continue with the URL change at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and will be in touch when a future date for this has been agreed. NOTE: SAML (OpenAthens/Shibboleth) users should NOT update their links to the new location at this time.

In previous OSO URL change communications, we provided you with a brief checklist and frequently asked questions document and asked you to review this and take the necessary actions to ensure a smooth transition. If you have already completed the actions, thank you. No further action is necessary. If you have not completed these actions, please know that we will be in touch when a future date is planned. While you are free to make these changes at your convenience, there is no need to take action at this time.

New timeline for platform change received from Oxford:

As you know, on the 14th of July, we planned to complete the Oxford Scholarship Online (OSO) URL change from www.oxfordscholarship.com to oxford.universitypressscholarship.com.  After initial checks, we made the decision not to continue with the URL change on that day.  We are now rescheduling this for the 30th of July.

As before, redirects will be in place ensuring there is no need to update discoverability records on the day itself.

However, we are pleased to confirm that in response to customer and partner feedback, we will be undertaking a full data refresh and resupply of KBART and XML metadata files on the 3rd of August to:

    ·         Reflect the new URL for all locations

    ·         Provide DOIs for all locations (pre-2019 XML includes historical URLs)

This will improve resilience by removing reliance on redirects and will be highly beneficial to customers.
