    Technical Requirements

    Prior to registration, perform the following actions to make sure that your local environment is ready to use the PCI service:

    1. Verify that you are using the correct version of Primo or MetaLib. The valid versions are:

      • Primo 3.0.2 and later releases

      • MetaLib 4.4 and later releases

    2. Use either the wget or telnet command to verify that your Primo or MetaLib server can establish a connection to the Primo Central Index server at the following domain:

      fe.p.prod.primo.saas.exlibrisgroup.com:1701

    3. If your Primo or MetaLib server uses a firewall, verify that outgoing communication is allowed to the above domain.

    4. For Primo customers only, perform the following actions to allow Primo to present the availability status for your records in Primo Central Index:

      1. Use the Google Scholar export procedure to create or update the link resolver institutional holdings file on the relevant link resolver instance. For more information, see the SFX Administration Guide.

      2. Verify that the following Primo Central Index IP addresses are allowed to retrieve the holdings file from the link resolver server on HTTP port 80:

        • 64.74.237.228

        • 64.74.237.225

        • 216.147.212.111

        • 216.147.218.97

      3. If you are using SFX, include the Primo Central Index IP addresses in the config/get_file_restriction.config file on the relevant SFX instance.

      4. If your link resolver uses a firewall, verify that the Primo Central Index IP addresses are not blocked.
