End user parametrization - list of various parameters

Question
What is the conceptual difference between individual user parameters as defined and used within a Primo user session.
Answer
There are 3 groups of user parameters in Primo session:
- defined and triggered by URL payload of specific user action
- defined within user preferences and triggered by user sign-in
- defined by Primo UI and refreshed by timeout or clearing browser history
URL Payload parameters
The selection remains in place upon timeout.
- Expanded search toggle in main Primo
- Search within full text toggle
- “Sort by” results in main Primo
- “Sort by” results in Database/Journal/Browse/Newspapers Search
- “Sort by” results in Collection Discovery
- Unlocked facet selection
- Locked facet selection (this also goes across the browser window, affecting different tabs)
- Search query
- Expanded search toggle in Citation Trail
User Sign-in parameters
Those are reset to default upon timeout of existing user session.
- Number of results per page
- Personalised results
- Advanced Search expanded or collapsed
- Allow search history to be saved
- Allow Research Assistant search history to be saved
- Allow saved search history to be used
- Labels selection in Favourites > Saved items
- Sort by selection in Favourites > Saved items
Primo UI parameters
Those are reset to default upon timeout or by clearing browser history.
- Citation generator selection (reset only by clearing browser history)
- Citation trail disclaimer reappears for Web of Science and Scopus
- Display view back to grid in Collection Discovery
- Citation Finder radio button selection back to Article
- Account > Loans > Borrowing history selection back to Current loans
- “Sort by” in Account > Loans back to no displayed selection
- Expand item display in Account > Loans back to collapsed
- Item checkbox selections for Favourites > Saved items
- Item checkbox selections in search results
- Item level filter selections in Get it
- Expand item display in Get it back to collapsed
