How to remove/delete angle brackets from record titles in Primo VE

Description

For customer that are using the UNIMARC bibliografic standard, the angle brackets are used to hide the initial article of title, to correctly index the title on the first significant word of the title.

In Primo VE it can happen that you can see these angle brackets  << >> or part of them,  that have been placed between the articles at the beginning of the notices but it is not on all the notices.

For example:

The >>practice of thermodynamic air conditioning and heating / Patrick Jacquard, Serge Sandre

<<The >> Essence of Public International Law / Catherine Roche

Resolution

To remove them you have to:

  1. Go to the Normalization rules in your Alma at:

Discovery - Display Configuration - Manage Display and Local Fields

  1. Select the Title field and see the Normalization Rules for display
  2. Check if the following lines are missing in total or partially at the of the drool:

 

remove string (TEMP"1","<<")

remove string (TEMP"1",">>")

 

  1. If they miss, add them and save and apply the rules

The <<>> will disappear
