Questions about configuring Port 80 for PDS

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: 2

    Description:
We have the following questions regarding configuring Port 80

    1. Why is it necessary that httpd port is 1701 and not port 80 in order to have FE01 up? As soon you change it to 80, FE01 is down

    2. Advanced Configuration Wizard/General Configuration there are also URLs like primo_base, MFE_MASTER, MFE_FRONTENDS . All run on 1701. What is their purpose? Why do we have here 1701 instead of 80? FE01 and FE02 shall run both on 80. We don´t see the connection.

    Resolution:
The reason that httpd port is 1701 is we use mod_jk to redirect to port 80 and not refer to port 80 straight. Therefore please leave all httpd ports in global properties file on 1701.

The General Configuration contains URL's that use 1701 because port 80 might be occupied by another web server. Please note that default port of JBOSS is 8080, and not 80, for the same reason. We just changed it from 8080 to 1701, which is a Primo standard.
