    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local

    Description

Resource Facets Are Not Applied to Results from the EBSCO Plug-In when the following are true:

    • Search results are blended with EBSCO results (which is not recommended).

    • A Resource Facet is applied to the results.

    • The Resource Facet Value:

      • Is a custom value (such as ebooks).

      • Is not an OTB value (such as books).

    • The filtered results contain records with an unexpected display/type (such as article).

    • The results with the unexpected display/type are from EBSCO.

    Resolution

    1. Edit the Deep Search Plugin Parameters mapping table under the Plugins subsystem on the All Mapping Tables page (Primo Home > Advanced Configuration > All Mapping Tables).

    2. In the Plugin drop-down field, select the EBSCO plugin (e.g. EbscoLocalMYINST2).

    3. Find the row with the Param name of rtype_to_ebsco.

      • If rtype_to_ebsco is not in the drop down list for the Param name, type it in directly.

      • If there is no rtype_to_ebsco row, create it.

      • See Additional Information for the Param value to use when adding the row.

    4. Add to the Param value an entry mapping the custom facet value to an EBSCO resource type.

      • The format is primo_type, ebsco_type (e.g. ebooks,Book).

      • Separate each mapping with a semicolon (e.g. ebooks,Book;ejournal,Article).

    5. Click Save.

    6. On the Deploy All page, select and run the Deep Search Configuration option.

    Additional Information

    • If there is no rtype_to_ebsco parameter Primo will use a set of default mappings (see Resource Type Mappings).

    • When creating an rtype_to_ebsco parameter the Param value should include these default mappings. Below are the default mappings made into the form required for use in the Param value column (last updated: 25-Oct-2016)
