    Question

Why is a "No full text available"availability status displayed for a Primo Central record when there is a working link in the Details tab?

    Answer

Primo Central records use the institutional holdings file generated by the link resolver to determine full text availability. This is the availability statement shown in the brief display of the record, and institutional access is reflected in the View Online area.

Primo Central records may also contain a static link to the content, which appears in the details tab. Primo does not use this link to determine availability, as these links often require a subscription for access.

Because of this, it is possible for a Primo record to have a “no full text available” status, yet have a link in the details tab that goes to the full text.
