    Primo and Solaris Support

    Released: February 2020

    Hello,

We would like to briefly highlight an item that appeared in our February 2020 release notes for Primo customers that are using Solaris. In the event you didn’t see it, this announcement is to ensure that you are informed that of our continued commitment to provide security updates for all third-party software used with Primo.

If you are an on-premises customer using Solaris/Sun OS, there are several third-party software/libraries that are no longer supported by Solaris. We will continue to run Open JDK 8 on Solaris/Sun OS in 2020, but we will no longer be able to deliver new releases for Primo on Solaris/Sun OS in 2021 since Open JDK 11 cannot be upgraded.

As a result, we will no longer be able to deliver bug fixes and enhancements for Primo after December 2020. Our standard customer support activities, such as answering product questions and providing configuration advice, will still be provided to customers running Primo on Solaris.

For customers who are running Primo with Solaris, we encourage you to make plans to migrate your servers to Red Hat.

If you have any further questions, please contact your Primo Support Team.

    Regards,

    Primo Product Management Team
