| A new service that processes lender-provided files through an automated OCR to make them machine-readable. | The RapidILL service checks all received files for accessibility. If a file is already machine-readable, it is delivered to the borrower with its accessibility features intact. If a file is not machine-readable, the service applies OCR processing to add this accessility component before delivering the file to the borrowing library. | The service will improve the accessibility of files, and reduce the need for library staff to manually run files through an OCR process if that is a standard part of their workflows. |
