Politics, culture, literature, art, or any other subject primarily about Black people in any part of the world, but especially North America. **Practice Note: This term can be combined with an emphasis on US topics for programs seeking to focus exclusively on African-American materials. The term is not applied to Australian aborigines or to sub-continental Indians even where they are referred to as Blacks. |
