The main toolbar is always displayed in App Builder and enables the administrator to select the display for the device they want to configure or amend. The selections are reflected in the preview display of the device in the main portion of the window.
Device, Orienation, App Profile and App Role Toolbar
To select the type of Device, click the drop-down list and check the required device. Only one device type can be selected at any one time. Click away from the menu to remove it from the window.
The following selection is for an iPhone 6+. The preview screen is designed to mimic the screen configuration and options that are available on that type of device:

If the selection is changed to a Samsung Galaxy S4, the display changes to the appropriate format:

For a tablet device display, the orientation can be switched from portrait to landscape using the W-H Refresh or swap button . The tiles on the display are automatically rendered in the chosen orientation:

The Profile button allows for the relevant App Profile to be selected. An App Profile must be selected. The user is presented with a list of profiles when they first launch the app:

The following diagram provides an illustration of how App Profiles are used to configure the end user experience.
It is important to ensure that the correct App Profile and App Roles have been selected before menu tiles are modified or created, to ensure the end user sees only the appropriate content for their Profile.
As can be seen from the examples below, App Builder allows the app to be configured entirely differently for each App Profile:
Staff/Student App Profile Open House App Profile
Alumni Association App Profile Guest User App Profile
Specific App Roles can also be selected against the App Profile.
It should be noted that branding configuration against the App Profile cannot be set at the App Role level, only at the App Profile level.
Only the App Roles applicable to the App Profile are displayed:
App Roles available against the Staff/Student App Profile
App Roles available against the Alumni Association App Profile
If just one App Role has been selected, the name is displayed in the menu selection:
Single App Role selected against the Staff/Student App Profile
If more than one App Role has been selected, the number of selected Roles is displayed in the menu selection:
Multiple App Roles selected against the Staff/Student App Profile
If no App Roles have been selected, the menu selection indicates the number of available App Roles but there is nothing displayed on the device display:
