What is happening to the Informa Healthcare databases?

The ProQuest Provider Content Operations team has worked with Taylor & Francis to determine how the migration of Informa Healthcare content to Taylor & Francis should best be represented in the Knowledgebase. There are three major components to this migration:
1. Retirement of standard Informa Healthcare databases. Subscribers to these databases should subscribe to the new Taylor & Francis Medical collections.
2. Title-level URLs changing in Informa Healthcare consortia databases.
3. Title-level URLs changing in Informa Healthcare eBooks database (database code 8MS).
1. Retirement of standard Informa Healthcare databases
Informa Healthcare content has migrated to Taylor & Francis. As part of this migration, Taylor & Francis has added several new Taylor & Francis medical collections. These new Taylor & Francis medical collections are currently available in the Knowledgebase.
In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on the Knowledgebase collection policy), all titles will be removed from the Informa Healthcare databases listed in the table below and the databases will be hidden in the Knowledgebase on October 27, 2015. These Informa Healthcare databases will become zero-titles databases and no future subscriptions will be possible. Clients who currently subscribe to these Informa Healthcare databases should instead subscribe to the designated Taylor & Francis medical collection in the table below in order to maintain access to Informa/Taylor & Francis content:

Action you need to take:
- Once the above change takes effect, update the holdings in your Intota or Client Center profile by subscribing to the new database instead of the old database. For information on how to update your profile, and considerations prior to removing the old database from your profile:
- If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs or database specific information to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after October 27, 2015.
2. Title-level URLs changing in Informa Healthcare consortia databases
Due to the migration of Informa Healthcare content to the Taylor & Francis platform, the title-level linking syntax for the Informa Healthcare consortia databases has changed.
Therefore, we will be changing the title-level linking syntax of the following databases in the Knowledgebase:
Informa Healthcare – Couperin (database code 03L)
Informa Healthcare 2013 – CAUL (database code ~1N)
Informa Healthcare CRKN (database code 00X)
Informa Healthcare Cross Access – SURFmarket (database code J.N)
Informa Healthcare Full Access – SURFmarket (database code J.M)
The content of these databases will remain the same.
This change will take effect on October 27, 2015:
Before October 27th: http://www.informahealthcare.com
After October 27th: http://www.tandfonline.com
Actions you may need to take:
- Make sure that either http://www.tandfonline.com or *www.tandfonline.com is included in your proxy configuration before October 27th.
- If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after October 27th.
3. Title-level URLs changing in Informa Healthcare eBooks database (database code 8MS)
Due to the migration of Informa Healthcare content, the title-level linking syntax for the Informa Healthcare eBooks database (database code 8MS) has changed.
Therefore, we will be changing the title-level linking syntax of this database in the Knowledgebase. The content of the database will remain the same.
This change will take effect on October 27th, 2015:
Before October 27th: http://informahealthcare.com
After October 27th: http://www.crcnetbase.com
Actions you may need to take:
- Make sure that either http://www.crcnetbase.com or *www.crcnetbase.com is included in your proxy configuration before October 27th.
- If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after October 27th.

We are communicating with the provider about the migration, which will take place sometime in 2015. Per the provider, for now, Informa Healthcare can still be used.
