Why does a title that I uploaded to a library-specific holdings database show as something else in the E-Journal Portal?
In order for Serials Solutions to offer your library the most complete data, the 360 KB knowledgebase contains Title Authority records. These records are a response to the lack of journal-name consistency between vendors and databases, and are produced by the process of normalization.
When a title variation has been found in a library-specific holding and is confirmed as a particular journal (based on ISSN and title), this variation is linked to the uniform title from the authority record in 360 KB. Once this is done, your patrons will receive the proper record for this title, regardless of the title difference.
