360 Core: Freely Accessible Databases Not Accessible from E-Journal Portal

    • Product: E-Journal Portal

Why are our freely accessible databases not hyperlinked from our E-Journal Portal?

Serials Solutions offers many freely accessible journal titles in collections we call "Freely Accessible" and "Single Journals" databases. (See this FAQ for more details.)
These collections of journals vary in access points and providers, which prevents us from providing a specific URL for each collection.
You can address this issue in one of two ways:
    1. You could choose not to display these databases on your E-Journal Portal's database list. You can do this by unchecking the box next to the database name in the Administration Console in the E-Journal Portal tab, under the Database List menu. Your patrons will still be able to search for journal titles within the E-Journal Portal, but the database will simply not display in the database list.
    2. Or, if your library has a specific URL that you would like to point your patrons to (such as a catalog or a Subject Guide), the link can be configured in the Custom URL field in the Database Details page in the Client Center.
