/exlibris filesystem 100% full; ./exlibris/backup_files using most of the space

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
As seen in "df -k", our /exlibris filesystem is at 100%. ./exlibris/backup_files is using most of the space. We have prd_software_a4, user_data_a5, and ora_software_o4 backups going back nine months. Why doesn't the system delete these?

    Resolution:
The following paragraph will be added to the end of Chapter 5 of the Exlibris Backup Package document (in Cross-Product Information -> Ex Libris Backup Package on the Doc Portal):

Oracle Backups (cold, hot, and archive) and Oracle Archives are deleted automatically by the Exlibris Backup Package. Other backup files (such as, prd_software_a4, user_data_a5, and ora_software_o4) need to be deleted manually. We suggest that you keep three generations of SUCCESSFUL backups for each. They should, of course, be copied to tape.
