Question

Can Aleph produce comma-delimited output for non-MARC znn Oracles tables (z36, z37, etc.)?  (This non-MARC data needs to be exported to another vendor.)

Answer

Yes, but tab-delimited rather than comma-delimited.   The Help for the file-03 GUI Service shows this:

File Format

Determines the format of the sequential file(s) produced by this service. There are three choices:

Fixed:
The fields in the created sequential file(s) are of fixed length. In other words, if the length of the field is five characters and only three are used, then the remaining two positions are filled with blanks.

Delimited:
The fields in the created sequential file(s) are delimited by X'09' (i.e., tab).

Both:
This option produces the sequential file(s) in both fixed and delimited format. The structure of the fixed sequential file is <tablename>.seq[a-z][a-z].fix. The structure of the delimited sequential file is <tablename>.seq[a-z][a-z].dlm.
