    Question

    I have commented out the check check_4_a in ./xxx50/tab_check_circ (GBL-LOAN and LOAN) and restarted the PC server.
    Nevertheless error '0172 Patron is not allowed to borrow items from this status.' is displayed

    How can this be avoided?

    Answer

    The error can also be displayed as a result of checks check_circ_4_b, check_circ_4_c and check_circ_4_d when the relevant line in ./xxx50/tab/tab16 in col. 12 (Max number of loans) is set to '000'.

    check_circ_4_b is checking at the sublibrary level;
    check_circ_4_c at the ADM level (an item status 99 line); and
    check_circ_4_d at sublibrary group level (an item status 98 line).
