    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
In our v16 ../a16_1/alephe/aleph_start there is this:
    setenv ADJACENCY_TYPE 2
In our converted ../u16_1/alephe/aleph_start there is this line:
    setenv ADJACENCY_TYPE 1
Now under v14.2 the "1" meant to build the 2 word pairs. Looking at the web guide, I think the UE table conversion should have converted our "1" to a "2." If 16.02 requires 'setenv ADJACENCY_TYPE 2' for building the word pairs; what does 'setenv ADJACENCY_TYPE 1' mean?

    Resolution:
In v14.2 "ADJACENCY Y" is the 3-letter-pair adjacency and "ADJACENCY 1" is the full-word pairs adjacency.
    In v15.2 "ADJACENCY_TYPE 1" is the 3-letter-pair adjacency and "ADJACENCY_TYPE 2" is the full-word pairs adjacency.
We suggest that 3-letter-pair adjacency *not* be used.
In fact, it would be our suggestion that this be eliminated as an option. At any rate, the v14.2 "ADJACENCY 1" is equivalent to 15.2 "ADJACENCY_TYPE 2" -- and that's what it should be converted to.
