Problem Symptoms:
We want to filter a report by the Bib Information > Desc10 field, which contains the title information.
The list for filtering however is incomplete and does not contain all information.

Cause:
Limitation in Cognos

Resolution:
There is a limit, coded into the Cognos software, of 5000 distinct values for any given filter field.
What you are seeing when you display the Bib Info > Desc10 field are the first 5000 values for that field.
There is option to change this behavior.

Use alternate options
- "Type In Values"
- "Search for Values", entering one or more keywords, then selecting the appropriate values that show up in the search result.
