    Description:
We've just completed a test of parallel indexing and have copied the indexes to their original location. Because we run p_manage_102 against a full LC authority file, approximately 60 million headings get copied into the BIB z01 via p_manage_102. We later run p_manage_15 to delete most of these headings.

    The possible problem/question is:

After parallel indexing, the z52 z01_acc_sequence is set to 61,031,107 instead of the original 2,000,000, which is quite small. Will this cause any performance problems in retrieval or adding headings?

    Resolution:
This is not, generally, a problem. KB 3961 talks about large gaps in Z00 doc numbers resulting in larger-than-necessary bitmaps, but that relates to Keyword -- not the Z01 / Browse headings.

The gaps in the z01_acc_sequence will result in more cycles being specified in the p_manage_17.cycles file (and other jobs? which read the z01), but since these cycles will contain fewer actual z01's than cycles without gaps, they will be completed more quickly. The net effect: no difference.
