Aleph Installation Kit -> Cobol in different directory
- Article Type: General
- Product: Aleph
- Product Version: 18.01
Description:
We are running the AIK, and want to install cobol as the aleph user in the aleph product directory. ie in a NON-root directory and as a NON-root access user. ' /opt/.... ' would put us into the root area of the server, which potentially creates other problems.
We specfically want to install cobol in " /exlibris/eexl_product/microfocus " directory rather than " /opt/microfocus/ " directory.
This matters because we have several different applications which are using cobol. For example, on the same one physical server we have two physically separate Aleph installations, with physically different paths, different versions of Aleph software, and different Oracle databases.
It would actually soon be 3 if you count both Aleph 18 and Aleph 20 for one library, and Aleph 20 for another library.
eg. /eexl/aleph/....
/wexl/aleph....
Resolution:
From Ex Libris (Official Ex Libris answer):
We don't support installation of Cobol in non-standard directories.
Some components are installed in system directories and cannot be modified by the installer. These components cannot be relocated.
