    Description:
We cannot use the "op=explain" url in a web browser to get a list of bases and index codes, or x-server commands.

    Resolution:
The problem that you were experiencing was due to a wrong path being used for the explain files. I added a line to the path_convert file (saving a copy of the old) in the abc50 $data_tab directory to redirect the path from there to the $alephe_root/www_x_eng directory. As it turned out, there were no files there, either, so I copied one file from $aleph_root/www_x_eng (the file "explain-list") to the $alephe_root/www_x_eng directory and now it appears when you do this X-Server request:

    http://mysvr.univ.edu:4505/X?op=explain&file=list
