    Problem Symptoms:
Though their log files don?t show any errors, jobs which add/update HOL records {such as, manage-18 (Load Doc Records), manage-21 (Global Change), and manage-37 (Fix Catalog Records)} stall.

The log shows that the job stops immediately upon reading the first record:
    1 START READING AT hh:mm:ss

Even after an hour, nothing additional has happened.

    Cause:
    Uncertain. Possibly, Oracle deadlock.

    Resolution:
    Stopping/restarting Oracle corrected the problem.

    Additional Information

    Diagnosis:
    1. Try running a different job which updates HOL records to see if it has the same problem.
    2. If so, run aleph_shutdown, stop/restart Oracle, run aleph_startup; stop the xx60 ue_01; then try the jobs again.
