Batch queue won't start for ADM; library managed by another library

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
I am trying to start the batch queue for our ADM library, AVE50. I get the message that it is managed by another library, FGH50. FGH50 is no longer a member of our consortium and we have removed it as an ADM.

This error prevents the AVE50 batch queue from being started. I know I will have to add it to aleph_start or aleph_start.private but I am stuck on the part of how to change the managing adm.

    Resolution:
You need to change this line in $alephe_tab/tab_library_group from:

    FGH50 AVE50 CCH50 CEB50 CSD50

    to:

    AVE50 CCH50 CEB50 CSD50

(The first library listed will be the managing library for the batch queue, daemons, etc., of the other libraries. It could be AVE50 or it could be one of the others.)

If you want the libraries to be set up so that each has its own batch queue, ue logs, etc., then you can change tab_library_group so that each library is on its own separate line.

Note: If the job_list has jobs for this library, you need to stop the job daemon (util e/15/2) and then restart it (util e/15/1) after making a change to tab_library_group.
