    Description

    A batch job (such as ill-64) stalls.  There is no error message, but the job process continues to appear in util c/1 and in "ps -ef".

    Resolution

    This happened when an unusually long value was specified for the p_partner_list parameter.  The ./pc_b_eng/p-ill-64.xml has this:

    <!-- Param:   P-PARTNER-LIST                      X(1000).      F04 -->

    Though only about 680 characters (100 partners) were specified in the ill-64 submission, it seems that the program had a problem processing that many.  A subsequent run with "All" specified as the partner-list was successful.
