CTRL F3 (Search headings) for 830: "request is beyond last heading ...

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
In GUI Cataloging, when I go to the 830 field in BIB record# 676770 and do CTRL +F3 / search headings, selecting ABC10 with "UTL" as the index, I get the message "request is beyond last heading in ACCess file".

    Resolution:
This was due to the fact that there were no UTL index entries in the Authority library: UTIL-F-4 for the z01 file, looking for "UTL", gave an End on z01 message.
This was due to a mistake in the abc10 tab11_acc....

Though some records have 130 fields, their 130 fields have a second indicator of "0":
    130_0 L $$aBulletin ... of the Geological Survey Department.

Your abc10 tab11_acc entry looks like this:
    130# UTL adfklmnoprs 2

This means that the 130 fields will be indexed only if they have a blank second indicator.

Changing the tab11_acc entries for the 130 and 430 tags to the following:
    130## UTL adfklmnoprs 2
    430## UTL adfklmnoprs 2
    130## GEN -wi56 2
    430## GEN -wi56 2

and stopping/restarting ue_01 corrected the problem for these records.

Doing it for all records required re-running p_manage_02 for abc10.
