    Description:
This problem is happenning on our Report server (in version 15.5). In the Search or Cataloging modules whenever staff attempt to "Connect to..." LCA10 or MSH12 the client is closed by Windows and a Dr. Watson error log is created.

This is happening only in Report and only for the UX instance libraries LCA10 and MSH12. The UXUPW library however can be connected to through the ADMIN module to work with staff permissions.

We are using the latest version of the gui and this gui can connect without a problem to all the other libraries in the university instances of Aleph on the Report server. Gui clients being closed by Windows has been discussed on the Aleph NA listserv but in most of those cases the crashes happened itermittently, this situation is different in that the crashes are consistently happening everytime an attempt is made to connect to an authority library in the UX Report instance.

    Resolution:
The pc_server log consistently ended with these lines:

DESCRIPTION: Retrieve information on print template package
    ACTION :
    PROGRAM : pc_com_c0180

    2007-03-08 18:10:57 35 [000] [log] Wrote 876 bytes
    2007-03-08 18:11:02 72 [000] [vrb] read_connection: recv errno Connection reset by peer

This indicated a problem getting the ./form_eng/html.pck file (the print template package).

It *seems* that recreation of the ./form_eng/html.pck using util i/6 may have fixed the problem, but this is uncertain.

In any case, previously, multiple users were unable to connect; now, all can connect. No version check was being done. So it was some change on the server which corrected the problem.
