Description:
When returning a requested item or executing a hold we are getting error message "0033: “Current bookings exist - loaning is not possible”. This sometimes happens when the items are requested for reading room (z37_send_action 04) or home delivery (37h_send_action 02). We are not using booking functionality - so why are we getting this error?

Resolution:
There might be different reasons for this error:

Case A:
At one customer site item status 13 was used for RR loans whil in tab_booking customer is already using status 13 for booking:

Deleting all lines from tab_booking has solved the problem.

Case B:

In tab_sub_library.eng customer has had:
RAB4 4 ABC50 L READING ROOM 15F 16B 17A OP4 ALEPH

But neither in 15F-group of tab15.eng nor in 16B-group of tab16 the item status 30 that was used in this scenario was defined. So Aleph was not able to create a loan record and produces this error.

Correcting tab15.eng and tab16 to cover this situation has solved the problem.

Case C:

The Z305-EXPIRY-DATE of the requester has passed. Also in this cases the system may display this specific error message.
