    DBD Oracle errors

I am trying to connect to the Aleph database using DBD::Oracle using some procedures we used in Aleph 18. When I attempt to connect, I get this error:

Thu Jun 17 17:15:36 2010] [error] [client] install_driver(Oracle) failed: Can't load '/exlibris/product/perl-5.8.8/lib/site_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/DBD/Oracle/' for module DBD::Oracle: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory at /exlibris/product/perl-5.8.8/lib/5.8.8/i686-linux/ line 230., referer:

It looks to me as if something in this is not working correctly. Could there be a problem with how it was compiled? Any ideas on how to get around this?

Or do you think the problem is actually somewhere else?

[From site:] I was able to get around this by making sure the environment was set properly when adding DBD::Oracle to my CPAN repository. I then pointed to the local perl version on the server rather than using the Ex Libris version. This seems to now be working.
