    Derived analytics have wrong format

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
When we create an analytic using "Derive new record" they are all created with the format "BK"

How do I get them to create the analytic based on the format of the main record?

    Resolution:
When you click on Edit and "Derive record" in Cataloging, there are three choices. The first is "Create analytic record" and the third is "Create analytic record using fix_doc_new (son)".

As you note, the "Create analytic record" always creates a BK-format record.

But we find that the "Create analytic record using fix_doc_new (son)" creates a record with the same FMT as the parent. The fields which are transferred to the derived record are a bit different for the third vs. the first. But the third is configurable using the $data_tab/tab_fix_new. So I'm thinking that if you don't like the fields with the third, you can change them.
