Duplicate holdings display in WebOPAC (for multiple material types)

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 17.01

    Description:
The title "Quick take off in latin american spanish" has 2 holdings displaying, but they only have 1 book (which has 2 CDs).

    Resolution:
The reason that there are two PST's for doc 001194682 ("Quick take off in Latin American Spanish") is that one is for material type "BOOK" while the other is for "SFTWR". It is intentional that each separate material type will generate a separate PST. (The only exception is ISSBD which will not generate a PST which duplicates an ISSUE PST.)

The $$oBOOK and $$oSFTWR are supposed -- using tab25.eng -- to generate a $$3 subfield with the tab25 material type description. There has been a bug which has been preventing the generation of the $$3. (The program has been looking for the tab25.eng in the bib library instead of the ADM.) 17.01 rep_change 767 corrects this so that the $$3 material type description is generated.

If what you want is for the material type to be disregarded and to have a single PST regardless of material type, that would need to be submitted as an Enhancement request, since there would need to be a switch because there are cases where sites *want* there to be a PST for each material type.
