Event type 35 (“Save to PC” and Email events) not included in z69
- Article Type: General
- Product: Aleph
- Product Version: 19.01
Description:
We have added event 35 to the fcc01 tab_events.eng in order to have “Save to PC” and Email events recorded in the Z69. After adding this to the tab_events.eng file, we performed a save and an email, but the transactions are not appearing in the z69.
Our understading is that events in the tab_events are recorded in the Z69. Is there something else that needs to be done in order for these events to be recorded.
Resolution:
Looking at the programs, it seems that this should be working. The programs which write the type 35 event are:
www_f_full_mail.cbl: "35"
www_f_myshelf_mail.cbl: "35"
www_f_short_mail_print.cbl: "35"
When I do a search and click on the E-mail button it brings up a screen via the pc (no entry in the www_server log) and when I fill-in that screen and click "Send" I get this in the log:
X SERVICE: ILL-GET-SET
2009-01-29 14:41:35 08 [000] [vrb] server_main: OUT 1.7850 2193
2009-01-29 14:41:35 10 [000] [vrb] IN 20090129 144135
ip address: 192.168.2.100 157
request: "/X/?op=ill-get-doc&library=fcc01&doc_number=001514402"
X SERVICE: ILL-GET-DOC
...
Alternatively, when I click on "Add to Bookbag":
WWW-F : MYSHELF-ADD-SELECTED
And then when I click on "Bookbag":
WWW-F : MYSHELF-SHORT
And then when I click on Email it brings up a screen via the pc (no entry in the www_server log) and when I fill-in that screen and click "Send" I get this:
X SERVICE: ILL-GET-DOC
2009-01-29 14:54:54 03 [000] [vrb] server_main: OUT 1.1092 5965

...

Thus, in both of these cases, the email is being sent using X-services. It seems that the X-services programs involved -- unlike the three www_f programs which call handle_www_event with a type "35" -- do *not* call handle_www_event.
This different than what I see for the email in the usm01 Web OPAC on our server.
Note: the three www_f programs are:
www_f_full_mail.cbl
www_f_myshelf_mail.cbl
www_f_short_mail_print.cbl:
