    Description:
In the a tree, /aleph/pc_b_eng, some of the .xml files have duplicates with .sp.3135 as the extension. Are these the new xml files added with the service pack, or are these old ones archived when the sp was installed?

    Resolution:
When SP 3135 is installed, any files that are replaced are preserved by adding the .3135 suffix. For example, if the file abc is being updated, the current version is renamed to abc.3135, and the new version is created with the name abc. This allows you to see the prior version and also to know which Service Pack replaced that file. It also tells Aleph which files need to be backed out if you should ever un-install a Service Pack.
