    Description:
Is there a way to configure the date format in the Z39.50 server OPAC “availablityDate”? Ours now shows this format “Jan/09/2012’ and a vendor we work with is expecting the traditional “9/01/2012”.

    Resolution:
This seems to be controlled by the value of the date_style_s environment variable.

As described in SKB 8192-9002, the date_style_s can be in the pc_server_defaults where it will take precedence over the date_style_s value in aleph_start.
Thus, you could have a different setting for the Web vs the GUI (--and the z39_server).

For details on date_style_s and date_style_f values, consult the "Aleph System Librarian's Guide - General". “25/01/2012” format would be date_style_s 12. (d/m/y with century)
