Has access from Primo impact on the number of active WWW server licenses?

    • Product: Aleph
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, TotalCare

    Question

Has access from Primo significant impact on the number of active WWW server licenses?

    Answer

No. The Primo-Aleph communication can be of 2 different types:

    (1) system communication, which is initiated by Primo during Brief and Full display records - the system communication is API based (RESTful, X services) and does not trigger any consumption of Aleph WWW server licenses

    (2) end user communication, which is initiated by the end user - this communication depends on the inidividual end user decision, when Primo is configured to offer a backlink to the Aleph OPAC, and the user needs to follow up this link to Aleph OPAC - in such a case, after clicking the backlink, the end user starts a new Aleph OPAC session, which consumes a WWW server license
