    Description:
How do we switch to using the new Word index after running Parallel Indexing? (We ran p_manage_01 in the abc03 library; the abc01 synonyms are currently pointing to fcl04 for the Words tables.)

    Resolution:
How to handle this the first time is described in Section 9 of the Parallel Indexing document. We recommend the use of synonyms, Option 1.

In your case, where this is a subsequent parallel indexing, you would do the following. (This info will be included in the Parallel Indexing document shortly.)

    The abc01 file_list has this:

    LS Z95 ABC04
    LS Z97 ABC04
    LS Z98 ABC04
    LS Z980 ABC04

And the util a/17/5/1 has this:

    Z95 ABC04 Z95
    Z97 ABC04 Z97
    Z98 ABC04 Z98
    Z980 ABC04 Z980

To switch to the new index, you would change the file_list to this:

    LS Z95 ABC03
    LS Z97 ABC03
    LS Z98 ABC03
    LS Z980 ABC03

And then do util a/17/5/2 ("Create/Recreate All Library Synonyms").

The result should be the fcl01 util a/17/5/1:

    Z95 ABC03 Z95
    Z97 ABC03 Z97
    Z98 ABC03 Z98
    Z980 ABC03 Z980

If there's a problem and you want to switch back, you just do the opposite.
