    Description:
    Is there a way I can have the system automatically save my records on the server when they are open in the Cataloging Module for a specific amount of time?

    Resolution:
    You can have the system automatically save your records on the PC after a specific amount of time, but not on the server. If you have a record open in the Cataloging Module for a set time, it will automatically be saved on pc with name "NEWnnn.MRC" (where nnn is a number). The record can then be opened on local drive later (cataloging > open record on local drive) and then saved on server. This is a nice feature, for example, if you began editing a long record and then there was a power outage. You would still have a copy of the record on your PC.
    The autosave time is controlled by the following parameter in AL500/catalog/tab/catalog.ini

    ; AutoSaveTimeout
    ; Specefies the time in minutes between autosaves

    AutoSaveTimeout=1

    Additional Information

    save records, auto save of records
