    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Problem Symptoms:
    * The name of mail server is defined in .\alephcom\tab\alephcom.ini, line "MailServer="
    * When clicking to send an email, the message "unable to connect to server" is displayed

    Cause:
Port 25 needs to be opened.

    Resolution:
This is not an ALEPH problem. Consult with your local system administrator.
The ALEPH 500 GUI by default sends email via SMTP port 25. Make sure this is set in your local installation.

    Additional Information

Aleph 20 supports SMTP with other ports than 25. For further information consult article "Secure SMTP in Aleph 20 (KB 29709)"
