How to make sure that call numbers are sorted numerical?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph

    Desired Outcome Goal:
How to make sure that call numbers are sorted numerical?

    Procedure:
Numbers in call numbers are filled with leading zeros and therefore are sorted numerical and not decimal. This can be seen in the configuration.

    Example

    xxx01/tab/tab00.lng
    H SGN ACC 42 00 00 Call number <- Filing-Routine 42

    42 F suppress
    42 F to_blank :/-,
    42 F pack_spaces
    42 F subfield_mab
    42 F compress $!=+"#%&'()*;?[\]_{|}@
42 F expand_num <- In filing routine 42 numbers are filled with leading zeros
    42 F char_conv FILING-KEY-04

This is how an index entry looks like:
    01 z01_acc \
    02 z01_rec_key \
    03 acc_code ..............SGN
    03 alpha .................L
03 filing_text ...........DA 0001973 <- here are the leading zeros
    03 filing_sequence .......41549
    02 z01_acc_sequence ........001141549
    02 z01_hash ................168482291293
    02 z01_aut_tag .............
    02 z01_rec_key_4 \
    03 aut_library ...........-CHK-
    03 aut_doc_number ........000000000
    02 z01_acc_sequence_see ....000000000
    02 z01_number_of_doc .......00000
    02 z01_cataloger \
    03 cataloger_name ........BATCH
    03 cataloger_level .......00
    02 z01_open_date ...........20080724
    02 z01_update_date .........20080724
    02 z01_cataloger_library ...
    02 z01_non_filing_char .....00
    02 z01_update_doc ..........Y
    02 z01_update_z0102 ........Y
    02 z01_ref_type ............
    02 z01_category ............ZZZ
    02 z01_normalized_text .....$$dDA 1973 <-- normalized text is without leading zeros
    02 z01_display_text ........$$dDA 1973
