    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

We would like to know if it is possible to adjust the privileges for the Circulation Desk Operator and Circulation Desk Operator Limited roles. They do not want users with either of these roles to:

    • Be able to register new users
    • Make changes to existing user records.
    • Create brief records on the fly.

    Resolution

In the GUI Circ client, when you right-click on the key at the bottom right of the screen, you will see the option "Staff Privileges".  Click on that and you will see a pop-up with User ID's and Permitted libraries.

Highlight the one you want to update and click on "Access Rights" in the right-hand column of the pop-up.  Then select the library for which you want to update the user's privileges from the list of libraries and click "OK".

On the screen which appears at that point, click on "5. Circulation" at the top.  Then  click on the "+"-sign to the left of the "Patrons, Global" and "Patron Profiles" options and click on "Denied" for the functions you want to prohibit.
