    Question

    Does Aleph support IPv6?

When the Aleph server is set up with IPv6 support and Aleph has standard alephe/apache/conf/httpd.conf, server_ip_allowed disables all communication between www client and www server. The www server log file shows:

    2010-12-16 09:34:43 51
connection 0 illegal ip address 2001:718:7:3:c580:22bb:53df:74a5 , denying access

The table $alephe_tab/server_ip_allowed (regardless its setup) can currently handle IPv4 addresses only and any other IP address is blocked.

The httpd.conf can be modified as replacing Port 80 with Port 0.0.0.0:80, which enforces IPv4 on httpd level, but this is not recommended due to slow communication.

    Answer

Aleph does not support IPv6 syntax and there are currently no plans to support it in higher version.

    Additional Information

Confirmed with Development for Aleph 23, as of July 2016.
