    Impact of p_manage_07

    I'd like to run p_manage_07 but have not previously. What's the potential impact to my system? For instance, will it lock the database and make the catalog inaccessible or will it run in the background and cause minimal disruption?

    Resolution:
    p_manage_07 *does* lock the library (-- as do all of the p_manage_nn indexing jobs). See KB 8192-7033 for how to determine if a job locks the library.

    I believe it will take about 1 hour on your bib library. (See section 10, "Estimating Run Time" of the "How To Run Index Jobs" document.)

    You should run it at night.
