    Question

In reindexing BIB headings: manage-102, manage-02, manage-17, etc., does manage-32 need to be included? (We simply want to leave the logical bases as they are; documents say that manage-32 is optional.

    Answer

manage-32 is optional only in the sense that, if all of the bases specified in tab_base.eng have "N" in column 8, no z0102 table is required, and the job will have nothing to do and does not need to be run. But, if some base has "Y" in column 8, then manage-32 needs to be run.

    Additional Information

The reason for this is that the z0102_rec_key (the Z0102-ACC-SEQUENCE number) needs to be the same as the Z01-ACC-SEQUENCE field of the heading’s record (Z01). The manage-02 service assigns entirely different Z01-ACC-SEQUENCE values, thus, after it is run, the Z0102-ACC-SEQUENCE values are immediately all incorrect.
